The third wave released by hackers, dubbed TheFappening 3.0, had personal photos of Anna Kendrick, Cara Delevingne, Kelli Garner, Alexandra Chando and many others. The second wave contained hacked photos from celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Emily Ratajkowski, Rihanna, Vanessa Hudgens, Mary-Kate Olsen, Abigail Spencer, Aubrey Plaza, Hayden Panettiere and Gabrielle Union. The most NSFW fappening leaks came in multiple waves: the first with images from 101 celebs, many of them A-list stars, including actress Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco, Kirsten Dunst, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice, Miley Cyrus and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The hacker, Ryan Collins, was eventually found, and was sentenced to 34 months in prison for his role in "Celebgate". As one of the largest privacy scandals to date, the breach made international headlines in the media. The porn pictures and videos (sex tapes) were accessed via the Apple iCloud storage service, which was automatically syncing the famous celebrities most private photographs stored inside their Apple iCloud accounts. The leak was dubbed TheFappening, a play on the happening and to fap (internet slang for masturbate). In late August 2014, a huge stash of private celebrity nudes were leaked onto the imageboard 4chan and social news aggregator Reddit, by a then unknown source.
